Southscape Homes, LLC, formed in 2007 by three of Birmingham's youngest and most innovative minds, combines over 15 years of home building and development experience. Our goal is to provide a quality home with timeless craftsmanship that you and your family can enjoy for a lifetime.

Builders John Palmer and Ryan Freeman, along with regional developer Kevin Turner, chose Trussville, Alabama as the headquarters for SouthScape Homes. In addition to its vast growth, the area appealed to the builders as a great place to raise their own families. Being actively involved in their families, their community, and their business reflects much of what John, Ryan, Kevin and SouthScape Homes represent.

Our Team

John Palmer Principal

Born and raised in the Trussville area, John began his career in residential development in 2003. After his first year in development, John felt the desire to also build beautiful, quality homes in Trussville and the surrounding communities. For the last three years, John has been able to combine his love of the area with his love of building to make the dreams of future homeowners a reality.

Ryan C. Freeman Principal

Ryan began his career in new construction after years of success in the investment property industry. His love for the remodel industry and desire to create practical yet lovely spaces for homebuyers led him to new construction. Ryan has been in the industry for five years.

Meredith M. Prosser, Interior Designer

Meredith has been with the newly formed company since March of 2007. She is a graduate of the University of Montevallo where she earned her degree in Interior Design with a minor in business. Upon graduating, she worked for three years for Bessemer Paint and Supply, a Benjamin Moore dealer where she also did her internship. Meredith is on staff to help with any interior design questions clients may have about their new home. She also is available to help with finishes and fixture selections for homeowners.

Kevin Turner

After graduating the University of Alabama in 1991, Kevin first sought a career in the NFL upon being drafted by the New England Patriots in the 3rd round in 1992. Kevin retired from the Philadelphia Eagles in 2000. He started his career in real estate with a national commercial developer in Birmingham in 2002. There he sold and leased real estate to national and local tenants such as Panera Bread, Walgreens, Moe’s, Peir 1, and Compass Bank. Late in 2004 Kevin went out on his own to work on small commercial and residential development. In that time he has developed over 30,000sf of retail space and along with other partners, has developed residential property in Prattville and Smith Lake. Kevin, who grew up in Prattville, AL, now lives in the Birmingham area with his wife Joyce, and 3 children ages 9,7, and 4.
